NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES
I am honored that the National League of Cities members elected me to the board of directors at the group’s annual meeting in Seattle Nov. 12-16. The National League of Cities serves a resource to and advocate for more than 19,000 cities, villages and towns. I will be an advocate for Las Vegas and Nevada on the board. WARD 5 HOLIDAY TURKEYS DELIVERED
Thanks to the generosity of many, I was able to deliver Thanksgiving turkeys and groceries to 500 elementary school youth and their families this week, and will be delivering more than 1,200 turkeys to senior communities on Monday. See the details online.
MENORAH LIGHTING BY MAYOR GOODMAN NOV. 27
Join Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman to light the community menorah on the first night of Hanukkah Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 4 p.m. at the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas. The menorah will be located on the west side of Fourth Street.
RTC TRANSIT WILL OPERATE ON ALTERNATIVE SCHEDULES NOV. 28-29
The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) will operate its transit system on a Sunday schedule Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, and will operate on a Saturday schedule on Family Day, Friday, Nov. 29. The Saturday and Sunday schedules will be in place due to traditionally lower ridership and less traffic on these days. Join Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman for The Las Vegas Great Santa Run Saturday, Dec. 7. This ninth annual run will raise funds for Opportunity Village. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the 5K run and 1-mile walk beginning at 10 a.m. Those interested in donning a red hat, coat and beard and participating in a fun run should visit the registration page.

I will host Bluegrass in the Park, Sunday, Dec. 8, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Lorenzi Park Lake band shell, located at 3333 W. Washington Ave. inside Lorenzi Park.
