How frequently is commissary purchased?

Commissary is purchased every Wednesday and items are given to inmates on the weekends. Funds must be deposited by 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday to order commissary for the week. This timeframe may be adjusted for holidays.

How can I deposit funds in an inmate’s commissary account for canteen items?

You may deposit funds in an inmate’s commissary account by the following methods:

  • Online - at the Access Corrections website.
  • By Phone - call (866) 345-1884 toll free.
  • In Person - using a deposit kiosk located inside the Detention Center’s visitation area at 3200 Stewart Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89101. The kiosk is available 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, excluding holidays. The kiosk is also available during inmate visitation. Can I bring items to the inmate?

Items are not accepted for inmates at this facility. They are supplied with the necessities needed while in custody. The inmates may purchase additional items through commissary.

How frequently can an inmate receive visits?

The inmates have visits once a week. This takes place on weekends and depends upon the unit they are housed in. Please see the visitation schedule below:

Unit 1 -         6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Unit 3 -         7 a.m. – 10 a.m. (North Las Vegas males ~ general population)
Unit 4 -         9 p.m. – 10 p.m. (males only)
Unit 7 -         9 p.m. – 10 p.m. (males only)

Unit 2 -         7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Unit 5 -         7 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Unit 6 -         7 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Unit 7 -         9:30 a.m.– 10 a.m. (females only)

How frequently are inmates released?

The inmates are released 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  They are released at First Street and Lewis Avenue. After sunset, the female inmates are released at Stewart Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard.

What are the property release times and location?

The inmates may release their personal property seven days a week 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. at the bail window, located at 3300 Stewart Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89101.

If an inmate is in custody with another jurisdiction and has city warrants, how can I obtain the warrant information?

You may call the Las Vegas Municipal Court at (702) 229-6605.

If the vehicle of the arrestee is towed, how can I retrieve it?

This will depend on the arresting agency. Generally, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department uses Quality Towing (702) 649-5711 and Ewing Brothers (702) 382-9268.  However, we suggest you contact the arresting agency for clarification.
