July 18, 2012

The Foundation for an Independent Tomorrow is hosting a free workshop for ex-offenders, "Tools For A Successful Transition," 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 24. See the flier for details and reserve a space by July 20.

The annual Neighborhood Partners Fund (NPF) application process is open for another three weeks. This program offers any registered city of Las Vegas neighborhood association the opportunity to apply for a maximum of $5,000 to help improve the quality of their neighborhood. There is still time to register and attend one of four remaining workshops scheduled during July to learn about the program and the paperless method of applying for the grant. Complete information about NPF grants is available on the city of Las Vegas website. Residents with questions can contact my office for guidance or call Maria Castillo-Couch directly at 229-6681. The deadline for applications is Aug. 9, 2012. I hope to see many Ward 5 neighborhood associations take advantage of this opportunity!
