May 4, 2011

As your newly re-elected council representative, I'm encouraging you to be part of the movement to continue developing and beautifying Ward 5. Please come to my Coffee with the Councilman event tomorrow so that I can hear from you and also share with you my upcoming plans for the next four years. With your input we can further shape the historic, proud and progressive Ward 5!

The event will take place tomorrow, May 5, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Starbucks at 751 N. Rancho Drive.

I continue to work diligently to attract new businesses, to encourage redevelopment and to get neighborhoods organized and involved in historic, proud and progressive Ward 5. For example, in what will be a major economic boost for downtown Las Vegas, the City Council recently approved a deal that will allow, Inc. to move its corporate headquarters to the city’s current City Hall site, which is located in Ward 5. In addition, renovation is expected to begin next year on the Lady Luck hotel-casino, which is also in Ward 5.
