Title:  Berkeley Square Neighborhood Association Meeting
Date:  Thursday, March 18, 2010 
Time: 6 to 7 p.m.

Brief Description: The meeting will be held to discuss the election of officers, the national historic designation, and housing improvements. _________________________________________________________

Title: Councilman Barlow Special Delivery
Date: Thursday March 18, 2010
Time: 9 a.m.
Location: West PreparatoryAcademy
Brief Description: Councilman Barlow will be teaming up with Lowe's to deliver another pallet of new books to the school in recognition of Nevada Reading Week. Lowe's has partnered with Councilman Barlow's office to see that schools will receive new Scholastic Books in order to promote literacy and to encourage children to pick up a book and read.

Title:  Westside School Open House
Date:  Saturday, March 20, 2010 
Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: KCEP 88.1 (330 W. Washington Ave.)
Brief Description:  Westside School historical open house event that will allow the community an opportunity to share in the past, present and future of the historic Westside School. Community members will be able to share their most memorable times while teaching, working or attending the Westside School, give their ideas on programs to be offered once the Westside School has been renovated, and participate in the unveiling of the National Register plaque on the steps of the 1922 school building.

Title:  Rainbow Dreams Class Reading
Date:  Monday, March 22, 2010
Time:  10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Location: Rainbow Dreams Academy
Brief Description: Councilman Barlow will be reading to four kindergarten and first-grade classes for Rainbow Dreams Reading week.

Title:  ZAP! Public Art Project
Date:  Wednesday, March 24, 2010 
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Location: West Las Vegas Arts Center (947 W. Lake Mead Blvd.)
Brief Description:  Introduction to the Zap! public art project, an opportunity to meet and greet the selected artist as well as provide community input for artist design. Zap! is the second phase of a 2005 art tour in the Winchester neighborhood painted by 10 outstanding artists in 10 different styles. Using utility boxes as canvases, the artists "zapped" portions of McLeod Drive, Desert Inn Road and Eastern Avenue with color, humor and local history.
