January 19, 2010

I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to the people of Haiti as well as the Haitian-American people locally and abroad for the devastating loss of friends and loved ones in the January 12, 2010, earthquake.

This devastating natural disaster has overwhelmed their country's resources.  The process of rebuilding begins with each of us lending our support to their cause. This is a tragedy and it is critical to provide relief promptly in order to sustain the lives of the remaining victims.
My family and I have already joined the plight and I urge the Las Vegas community to open up their hearts to this nation that clearly is in need of immediate support.

My prayers are upon each and every individual affected by this disaster and I pledge as an elected official to organize and respond accordingly.
