Neighborhood Improvement Project Grants Available

The city of Las Vegas is now accepting applications for Neighborhood Partners Fund Grants through Monday, March 15. Grants of up to $5,000 are available for neighborhood improvement projects that are planned and implemented by neighborhood associations registered with the city’s Neighborhood Services Department. Applicants are also required to match requested grant funds with volunteer labor, funding or other matching resources.  

Applications are available at free how-to workshops on developing a successful Neighborhood Partners Fund project are available. Residents interested in the grants are encouraged to call 229-6681 to register for one of the workshops, which will be held at the following city of Las Vegas facilities:

Tuesday, Feb. 17 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center
101 Pavilion Center Drive (north of Alta Drive), 229-1100

Saturday, Feb. 28, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Mirabelli Community Center
6200 Hargrove Ave., 229-6359

Tuesday, Mar. 3 – 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
East Las Vegas Community Senior Center
250 N. Eastern Ave., 229-1515

Applications must be submitted to the Neighborhood Services Department, by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 15, at 400 Stewart Ave., second floor, Las Vegas, NV 89101 for consideration. All applicants will be required to make a 10-minute presentation to the Neighborhood Partners Fund board as part of the grant evaluation process. The board is scheduled to make its recommendations to the City Council on June 17, 2009.
