New Judge Joins Las Vegas Municipal Court
A familiar face was recently appointed by the Las Vegas City Council to fill the Department 1 seat left vacant by the untimely passing of Chief Judge Toy R. Gregory. Cynthia S. Leung, who has worked as a deputy city attorney since 1999, was officially sworn in at the Feb. 20 City Council meeting.
Prior to joining the City Attorney’s Office, she worked as a criminal defense attorney in private practice. As a prosecutor, Judge Leung has practiced before the Las Vegas Municipal Court, Eighth Judicial District and Nevada Supreme Court.
Originally from California, Judge Leung earned her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley, and her juris doctorate from Southwestern School of Law. She is licensed to practice in California and Nevada.
