Garage Fire In Peccole Ranch Condo Complex
One Person Was Critically Injured During Fire

One person was critically injured during a fire in the garage of their condominium unit Saturday morning.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.  There were no other reported injuries.

Firefighters from Las Vegas Fire & Rescue and the Clark County Fire Department responded to the Stone Ridge Condos at 5:51 a.m.  On arrival, thick, black smoke was coming out around a garage door of a two-story wood frame/stucco condo unit at 2152 Turquoise Ridge St.

The garage door was open about five or six inches from the ground, so firefighters pulled it up.  When they opened the door, a middle aged adult male was found lying on the floor at the garage door.  The man was unconscious and was suffering from smoke inhalation.  He was immediately transported to the trauma unit at University Medical Center in critical condition.

The fire was out in less than a minute.  Items that are normally found in a garage were what burned.  It produced more smoke than flames.  Damage was confined to the garage.  Damage was estimated at $10,000.  The condo unit above was not damaged.

The incident is under investigation by Las Vegas Fire Investigators and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.  Because the man’s injuries are so critical, both agencies are investigating the incident together, which is standard procedure.

No one was displaced by the fire.
