City Of Las Vegas To Break Ground On New Fire Station In Ward 3
New Station Will Be Built To Meet Sustainability Standards

Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman, Ward 3 Councilman Bob Coffin and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Chief William McDonald will officially break ground for a new fire station on the city’s east side at 577 Page St., on Monday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m.

The $6.7 million station, located at the corner of Page and Bonanza Road, is expected to open in summer 2014, and will house one engine company and one rescue unit. The station will improve emergency response in Ward 3, in one of the city’s most mature areas.

The new station will be built to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold standards. The 7,640 square-foot station will have two bays and will be staffed by three platoons of firefighters.

The contractor on the project is Core Construction.
