James Gay Park Closed Until Further Notice
Metro Police Investigating Incident At City Of Las Vegas Park

James Gay Park, located at Owens Avenue and B Street, has been closed until further notice due to an incident that occurred at the park last night. Any details concerning the incident should be referred to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, which is investigating the incident.

Based on information provided by Metro Police, and due to the incident’s proximity to a children’s play area, city officials decided to close the park until further notice in order to ensure the public’s safety. This is also the second similar-type incident that has occurred in the park in the last four months.

As homeless individuals often frequent the park, the city is reaching out to the local homeless providers about the park closure so they are aware and prepared to provide additional resources.  The city will also be working with its homeless provider partners to do additional outreach over the coming days.
