Parking Plentiful In Downtown Las Vegas During Special Events
Mint 400 To Close Streets And Bring Additional Visitors Downtown Starting Thursday

Multiple parking lots and garages will be open this week to help with the influx of traffic for the annual Mint 400 race.

The race will close Fremont Street between Las Vegas Boulevard and 10th Street beginning at noon on Thursday, March 21. Those interested in visiting the Fremont East Entertainment District should use nearby parking to avoid the closed street.

Along with parking at the downtown hotel-casinos there are a number of other public and private lots available to the public including:

• Las Vegas City Hall Garage, 500 S. Main Street
• The Neonopolis Garage on Fourth Street and Ogden Avenue
• The Red Garage at the Fremont Street Experience

Visitors are encouraged to visit the city’s website at for parking options before they come downtown.

The city also provides metered parking downtown and is upgrading parking technology. This is the second phase of a long-term parking plan that is being undertaken by the city with the goals of providing excellent customer service; making parking easy to use; improving financial performance; supporting existing businesses by tailoring parking options for customers, employees and residents; and supporting new development by examining shared parking options, and creating flexibility for special events.

Last year, the city created a “one-stop-shop” for parking services under the Economic and Urban Development Department to make it easier for customers to navigate the system. Previously, the functions of parking related to enforcement, finance and Streets and Sanitation were spread throughout the organization.
