YourVoiceVegas Website To Make Citizen Engagement More Convenient
New Online Tool Makes It Easier For Citizens To Engage, Communicate And Collaborate With City Officials And Other Residents

Earlier today, Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman and City Manager Elizabeth N. Fretwell introduced , a tool that will generate new ideas and feedback from citizens on a variety of issues.

“I’m really looking forward to using this tool to better communicate with our citizens and get their help in continuing to build a world-class city,” Mayor Goodman said. “We know that people are busy and it’s not always easy to get involved, but we hope this website will make it more convenient and fun for people to do so.”

The site is easy to use and available 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Sign-up is also easy allowing for registration on the site itself or via an existing Facebook account. Once registered, users can submit original ideas, refine ideas that the city might put forth, second a neighbor’s idea or participate in a survey or poll.

“Information from this site will give us a better pulse on what our community is saying,” Fretwell said. “People want to communicate with their government in new more convenient ways and know their concerns are being heard. This site is a great tool in making sure we deliver what people need.” is not intended to replace existing city communication tools, but it does provide a newer and easier way to hear from the public.

The discussion on the site will start with topics such as:

• What can be done to attract new businesses, expand existing businesses and create jobs?
• What can be done to continue the tremendous momentum that has taken place in downtown Las Vegas?
• What three things will make our city more sustainable?
New topics will be added to the website on a regular basis.
As an incentive, those who participate will accrue points based on their level of participation and be eligible for a number of rewards.
