Description: Mission: Lifeline is a program that has been implemented in conjunction with the American Heart Association to improve quality of care received by heart attack patients. It is not only in place with proven results here in Las Vegas, but other cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago, are looking to catch up to us. Las Vegas Fire & Rescue has had a role in the program’s inception and implementation, and along with other first responders, emergency care hospitals and cardiology specialists, they have reduced dramatically, the door to procedure time that is so critical for a full recovery.

The problem now is that less than 50 percent of these patients are actually calling 9-1-1, which cuts short the benefits of the program. Hosted by Shari Singer, this half-hour KCLV special brings attention to the program to educate citizens to help them overcome their apprehension about calling 9-1-1.
