Current Episode On this edition of Las Vegas City Scene we discuss the upcoming Business Outreach Workshop being held by the city of Las Vegas, aimed to help local businesses land government contracts. A City of Las Vegas business specialist discusses why this event is a must for business owners looking to network and grow their business.
Plus, we take a look at the progress being made by the Downtown Achieves program. Executive Administrator Michelle Layton and UNLV Assistant Professor Joseph Morgan, PhD discuss their findings from the first round of parent surveys and go over what needs must be met first in order to improve education in downtown schools.
Also, are you trying to figure out how to keep your kids busy when they are out of school for the summer? The city of Las Vegas has dozens of great opportunities to keep your kids active. Summer camps and swim lessons are open for registration in April. We take a look at what kinds of camps are available as well as the costs associated with these activities.
Adults are also being urged to get active as we prepare for “Bike to Work” month. A local biking enthusiast sits down with us to explain all of the benefits of leaving the car at home and riding to work.
We also have your responses to our Facebook and Twitter question: “What’s the biggest issue facing downtown?” Check out what other Las Vegas residents think during the “Social Scene.”
