City Of Las Vegas Recruiting For Parks And Recreation Director

The city is conducting a nationwide search for a new parks and recreation director. Candidates will have until Aug. 8 to submit their resumes. Candidates will then be screened, with the most qualified candidates invited to move forward in the process that will occur in Las Vegas in mid-September.

The city expects to have the candidate recommended for appointment to the City Council by early October.

Parks and Recreation includes 85 full- and part-time employees and 300-400 hourly/seasonal employees, and a FY 2015-16 budget of $19.8 million.

More information on the position can be found here:

The Parks and Recreation Department has most recently been housed with the Office of Neighborhood Services, now the Office of Community Services. As part of a recent reorganization, the city has identified the need to focus on the management of Parks and Recreation as its own entity, and has designed Parks and Recreation as its own, stand-alone department. Tim Hacker has been serving as interim director.
