Apartment Complex Laundry Room Gutted By Fire
No One Was Injured During Incident

Las Vegas firefighters responded to the Cornerstone Crossing Apartment Complex at 6666 W. Washington Ave. (Washington/Rainbow) for a laundry room fire late Thursday afternoon. There were no reported injuries during the incident.

Fire dispatchers received several calls at 4:40 p.m. that the laundry room attached to Building U was on fire. When firefighters arrived, heavy flames and smoke was coming out the windows and door of the one-story, wood frame structure, which is attached to a two-story apartment building.

Firefighters were able to douse the flames in just a few minutes and keep the fire from spreading to the apartment building.  The fire completely gutted the laundry room, which had four commercial washer and dryers that are used by tenants of the apartment complex.  Damage was estimated at $25,000.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and remains under investigation.

No one was displaced by the fire.
