Fire Damages Bedroom of Northwest Las Vegas Home
Three Adults Are Displaced By the Fire

Las Vegas firefighters responded to 4901 Vega Lane (Torrey Pines/Lone Mountain) at 2:36 Sunday morning. On arrival smoke and flames were showing from the window of an upstairs bedroom of the two-story, wood-frame/stucco house.

The was also an adult male with a pet dog sitting on the roof of the garage as firefighters arrived, apparently there to escape the fire. Firefighters quickly put up a ladder and brought the two down. Neither the man nor his dog were injured.

Firefighters entered the home and had the fire out in a few minutes. The fire was confined to the bedroom. There was also heat and smoke damage on the second floor of the house.  Damage was estimated at $20,000.

The occupant told fire investigators that the fire started due to careless smoking. Fire investigators determined the fire was accidental in nature. The man told investigators that his exit was blocked in the bedroom when the fire started. He escaped out the bedroom window to the roof and waited for help to arrive.

Three adults live in the house and are displaced. They are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.

There were no reported injuries as a result of the incident.
