Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman To Be Appointed Chair Of The Mayors Business Council For U.S. Conference of Mayors
Mayor Replacing Long Beach, CA Mayor Bob Foster

Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman will be appointed by U.S. Conference of Mayors President Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson to serve as the Chair of the Mayors Business Council for the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) during their annual meeting in Dallas this weekend. She will serve in this new role for a year through next June. The mayor will be replacing Long Beach, CA Mayor Bob Foster. Mayor Goodman announced her continuing commitment to improving economic development and to helping provide new job opportunities through business growth across the country.

The Mayors Business Council is an integral part of the structure and activities of The U.S. Conference of Mayors. The Business Council meets and works directly with the elected leadership  of the Conference of Mayors. Members of The Mayors Business Council are invited to participate in the Annual and Winter Meetings, the two most prominent events of The U.S. Conference of Mayors where, each year, priorities are set and policy decisions are made.

“I am so honored to be selected to serve on such an esteemed board that will help to improve the business climate in U.S. cities,” Mayor Goodman said. “We will be working with the private sector and the business community on issues that are so central to the success of all of our cities nationwide.”

Mayor Goodman also serves as the vice-chair of Educational Excellence Task Force and on the USCM Advisory Board.

"We are pleased to welcome Mayor Goodman to this post.  She brings a wealth of experience to her new role and we look forward to her leadership as we work with the business community and mayors to help our cities and metro areas thrive," said Tom Cochran, USCM CEO and Executive Director.
