Grand Teton Road Closure Planned Between Tenaya And Buffalo June 9-16
Week-Long Closure Due To Storm Drain Installation

West Grand Teton Drive will be closed to through traffic between North Tenaya Way and North Buffalo Drive to install storm drain boxes beginning Monday, June 9, at 5 a.m. The contractor is expecting to re-open Grand Teton Drive by Monday, June 16, at 5 a.m. Farm Road is recommended as an alternate route for east/west traffic. Cimarron Road and Durango Drive are possible north/south alternate routes.

The contractor will work double shifts for a portion of this work to minimize the amount of time Grand Teton will be closed. Work is expected to begin as early as 5 a.m. and end as late as 9 p.m. Traffic on north- and southbound Buffalo will be shifted to the western half of Buffalo and reduced to one lane in each direction to allow the storm drain box to be installed west of the Buffalo center line.
The work is part of construction of a storm drain box culvert along Grand Teton between Rainbow Boulevard and Durango Drive, which will convey storm water underground to help eliminate the majority of the impact of major storms like the one experienced last August.

Las Vegas Paving Corporation is the contractor. The city of Las Vegas is managing the project and The Louis Berger Group is the construction manager. The Clark County Regional Flood Control District provides funding for this project and the estimated cost is approximately $11 million.
