Las Vegas residents are invited to enjoy two free Friday night concerts in the park in May as part of the city of Las Vegas Arts Connection community outreach efforts. Both performances will begin at 7 p.m. on the city’s portable showmobile stage.

The Red Rock Ramblers will perform May 9 in Bruce Trent Park, located at 8851 S. Vegas Drive. The Red Rock Ramblers play a mix of bluegrass, classic country, swing and gospel music. Members Leon Evans (mandolin, vocals), Laraine Kaizer (fiddle, vocals), Jim Damele (guitar, vocals), Joel Ferguson (banjo, vocals) and Jimmy Schuppel (bass guitar, vocals) are fine musicians that will have your toes tapping. John Earl’s Boogieman Band will entertain May 16 in Police Memorial Park, situated at 3250 Metro Academy Way. John Earl’s Boogiemen do everything from their own saucy originals to hot renditions of Delta and Chicago Blues classics. Bluesmen John Earl (vocals, blues harp, guitar, percussion), Chris Tofield (vocals, guitars), Junior Brantley (vocals, keyboards) and Bob Rosales (vocals, drums, percussion) are award-winning, renowned musicians.
