Councilwoman Lois Tarkanian To Celebrate Opening Of New Bonanza Trail Amenities
Lighting, Bathrooms And Picnic Pavilion Among Improvements

Ward 1 City Councilwoman Lois Tarkanian will officially open new amenities as part of the completion of phase three of the Bonanza Trail project at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, at the Bill Briare Family Park, located at 650 N. Tenaya Way.

The project includes a new trailhead at the park, as well as a large picnic pavilion and bathroom facilities. Phase three also includes new lighting along the Bonanza Trail between Lorenzi Street and Jones Boulevard.

Earlier work on the Bonanza Trail connected Bill Briare Family Park to Kellogg-Zaher Sports Complex. The city’s ultimate goal is to construct a 239-mile trail network that will interconnect Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, the outlying northwest and west areas through downtown Las Vegas to the mature east Las Vegas neighborhoods.

Phase three is a $1.5 million project funded by the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act and the State of Nevada Division of State Parks and Recreation.
