City Of Las Vegas To Dedicate “Nephele” Public Art Feb. 6
The Public Invited To Dedication At Noon At Development Services Center


The public is invited to attend the dedication of the latest addition to the city of Las Vegas public art collection Thursday, Feb. 6, starting at noon, in the first-floor lobby of the Development Services Center, located at 333 N. Rancho Drive. Light refreshments will be served. The large artwork, comprised of five colorful fiber sculptures by Las Vegas artist Cyd Bown, is entitled “Nephele.” 

The artwork, composed of fabric, thread and steel, measures 30 feet by 8.5 feet by 24 feet. Nephele, which means “cloudy” in Greek, is an Art in Public Places project of the Las Vegas Arts Commission. The city of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Arts Commission Percent for the Arts Fund provided $60,000 toward the total cost of this artwork.
