Las Vegas Fire Investigators Charge Suspect With Arson Overnight
No One Injured During Incident

Las Vegas fire investigators arrested and charged an individual for allegedly setting a fire early this morning in a house on the northwest side of the city.  There were no injuries in connection with the incident.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were originally dispatched to 7804 Sparkle Avenue (Westcliff / Buffalo) at 12:43 a.m. for a domestic dispute.  When police arrived they found smoke coming from an upstairs bathroom and notified Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.  The fire was quickly extinguished with minimal damage.

Police determined that one of the occupants of the house had taken some cardboard and other wooden items and set them on fire in the bathtub.  Damage was confined to the bathtub.

Six people, including two children were in the home at the time of the fire.  Police then took one of the adults into custody and held them until Las Vegas Fire Investigators arrived on scene.

Joeshawn Sterling, 25 was arrested by Las Vegas Fire Investigators and charged with one count of First Degree Arson.  Sterling was taken to the Clark County Detention Center.
