Expect Road Construction On Tropical Parkway For Two Weeks Between Janell Drive and Bonita Vista Street
Traffic Lane Restrictions Begin Monday, Oct. 28

Starting Monday, Oct. 28, and continuing through the next two weeks, there will be lane restrictions on West Tropical Parkway between Janell Drive and North Bonita Vista Street while roadway improvements are constructed. The work zone will stretch approximately a half-mile east and west of the Durango Drive/Tropical Parkway intersection.

Work hours will generally be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The work will consist of adding an asphalt lane on the north side of Tropical Parkway and a slurry overlay that will allow restriping of this roadway to accommodate a pedestrian path and bike lane.

Motorists should expect delays on Tropical Parkway, and are advised to use Ann Road as an alternate east-west travel route.

Las Vegas Paving Corporation is the contractor. The city of Las Vegas is managing the project and providing funding. The estimated cost for this project is $130,000. This project furthers the city’s efforts to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety.
