Fire Damages Home In Meadows Mobile Home Park
Fire Investigators Rule Fire Accidental

Las Vegas and Clark County firefighters responded to the Meadows Mobile Home Park, 2900 S. Valley View Blvd. at 10:02 Thursday evening after receiving several calls that a double-wide mobile home was on fire.

On arrival, firefighters found most of the fire under the home and on the outside wall under the carport. Firefighters had the fire out in a few minutes.

Fire investigators determined that the fire started under the carport on a set of wooden stairs that went to a side door of the home to the interior. They believe a can that was used to collect cigarette butts was sitting on the wooden steps, where the fire started.

The fire damaged a small area on the outside wall and an area under the mobile home. There was a little damage around the side door on the inside. Damage was estimated at $10,000.

One adult lives in the home. The American Red Cross is working with the occupant.

There were no injuries in connection with the incident.
