City Of Las Vegas Offers Volleyball Opportunities
New Volleyball Leagues Forming At Dula, Mirabelli, Stupak Centers


The city of Las Vegas offers recreational volleyball opportunities at several of its sports and community centers.

The Dula Gymnasium currently is forming an adult league for men and women ages 18 and older, with games beginning Sept. 25. League play will be Wednesday nights from 6 to 9 p.m. Team registration is $100. Dula Gymnasium has a newly conditioned gym floor and is located at 441 E. Bonanza Road. Dula Gym also offers open gym Sept. 18 for only $2 per person; a liability waiver is required. For more information on Dula Gym recreation, call (702) 229-6307.

Mirabelli Community Center is registering teams now for a coed adult volleyball league to play Wednesday nights from 6 to 9:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 25. Team registration is $150 per team, with a $10 referee fee per game. The center is located at 6200 Hargrove Ave. For registration and more information, call (702) 229-6359.

Stupak Community Center currently is registering teams for a men’s 4 v 4 league that will play Tuesdays from 6 to 10 p.m. Registration is $100 per team and is open to ages 16 and older. There will be no referee fees. The league start date is open. Located at 251 W. Boston Ave., the center offers volleyball skills classes as well as leagues and open games. Middle school and high school girls are invited to participate in free volleyball classes on Mondays and Fridays from 4 to 6 p.m. that are sponsored by the Police Athletic League of Southern Nevada. The center also offers volleyball boot camps for ages 12-20 Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for $5 per person. A $5 volleyball boot camp is offered Saturdays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. for ages 12-14 and from 10:30 a.m. to noon for ages 15-22. Youth ages 14-22 enjoy open volleyball games Friday nights from 6 to 8 p.m. at a cost of $2 per person. For more information on volleyball at Stupak Community Center, call (702) 229-2488.

Chuck Minker Sports Complex, located at 275 N. Mojave Road, currently has a women’s volleyball league playing. The center will open adult female volleyball league registration for the next league Dec. 9-Jan. 9 for a Thursday night league that will play Jan. 9-March 6, 2014. Outdoor sand volleyball leagues currently are playing at Centennial Hills Park, located at 7101 N. Buffalo Drive. New leagues will form next spring for games that begin in April. For more information on outdoor volleyball leagues, call (702) 229-1642.
