Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow Teams With Starbucks For Massive Neighborhood Cleanup
More Than 400 Volunteers Expected To Clean Up Ward 5

Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow and 400 Starbucks employees are joining forces for a Ward 5 neighborhood cleanup on Wednesday, June 12, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Kianga Isoke Palacio Park at Doolittle Complex, located at West Lake Mead Boulevard and J Street.

The volunteers, who are in Las Vegas for corporate meetings, will clean and refurbish around Matt Kelly Elementary School, the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy, the Rainbow Dreams Academy and the Doolittle Community and Senior Centers. The cleanup is scheduled to last until 11 a.m.

The city of Las Vegas will provide tools and supplies for the cleanup through its mobile cleanup trailer known as the neighborhood porch.

“When we started working with Starbucks we would have cleanups with a couple dozen people, but it has snowballed to where we have a partnership that really benefits the community,” Councilman Barlow said. “I look forward to continued partnerships with Starbucks to make Ward 5 and the city of Las Vegas a more beautiful place to live, work and play.”
