Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow Teams With Local Starbucks Coffee Shops For Neighborhood Cleanup
Cleanup Set For Today At 11:30 a.m.

Ward 5 Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow will join more than 200 Starbucks employees for a neighborhood cleanup in the area surrounding Children’s Memorial Park, located at Gowan Road and Torrey Pines Drive.

The cleanup is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. and last until 2 p.m. Volunteers will be working in the neighborhood, painting curbs and fire hydrants and removing graffiti. They will also spruce up the park in time for the many who will visit during the baseball season.

The cleanup is part of the Clean Ward 5 Campaign that Councilman Barlow launched in 2008 to beautify Ward 5. The city of Las Vegas Neighborhood Services Department is helping sponsor the event. The neighborhood was newly added to Ward 5 during the recent redistricting.

“I want to thank Starbucks for helping me to welcome all these new Ward 5 residents with a cleanup,” Councilman Barlow said. “Keeping Ward 5 clean and beautiful is one of my top priorities and it’s fantastic when we can have the business community partner to make it happen.”
