Family Of Seven Displaced By Fire
Fire Investigators Believe Children Were Playing With Matches

Las Vegas firefighters responded to a reported house fire a 5305 Harmony Ave. (US95/Decatur) at 11:20 Friday morning. On arrival smoke was showing from the second floor of a two-story wood frame/stucco house. Firefighters were told on arrival that all the occupants were evacuated.

Firefighters found the fire in an upstairs bedroom. They had the fire out in a couple of minutes and were able to confine it to the one room. The bed, a TV and a few other items were damaged by the fire. The room also had heat and smoke damage. Damage was estimated at $5,000.

Fire investigators believe the fire was started by one of the children playing with a match or a lighter.

The American Red Cross is assisting the one adult and six children that live there.  There were no reported injuries.
