Commercial Building Fire On City’s Eastside Under Investigation
Firefighters Quickly Contain Fire

Fire investigators from Las Vegas Fire & Rescue are currently on the scene of a commercial building fire that occurred earlier this morning. Firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished the fire within a few minutes. There were no reported injuries.

Fire dispatchers received several calls of a fire and possible explosion at 3:33 a.m. at the House Depot, 3001 Contract Ave. (30th St/E. Charleston).

On arrival smoke and flames were showing from a 2-story brick office type building on the corner of Contract Ave and N. 30th St.  Firefighters forced entry into the building and found a fire on the first floor of the building and quickly doused the flames.

It appears the fire was on the first floor, but heat and smoke spread throughout the business. Preliminary damage estimate is $50,000-100,000. An official estimate will be calculated after the investigation is complete.

The cause of the fire is under investigation currently by fire investigators on scene.
