KCLV Channel 2 To Premiere Two New Specials Thursday Night
Specials Focus On Pet Overpopulation And The City’s Cutting Edge Treatment For Cardiac Victims

KCLV Channel 2, the city’s award-winning government access channel, will premiere two new specials focusing on issues that Las Vegas residents deal with in their everyday lives on Thursday, Sept. 13 beginning at 8 p.m.

“Four Lives” will introduce viewers to four animals that ended up at the Lied Animal Shelter. Every year in this country four million pets are euthanized, and the city of Las Vegas, like many cities, faces a staggering pet overpopulation problem. Join host Nancy Byrne as she takes you to the front lines with Animal Control and shows you the hard realities of this social issue. Four lives will premiere at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13.

“Mission Lifeline” will premiere at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13, and focuses on a new program of cardiac care that has been implemented in Las Vegas in conjunction with the American Heart Association. The program has saved lives in Las Vegas and is a model nationally for other cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago. The Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Department had a large role in the program’s inception and implementation and host Shari Singer will explain what residents can do to help the program grow, and potentially save lives.

“Four Lives” and “Mission Lifeline” will air several times in one hour blocks on KCLV. Replay times include Friday, Sept. 14, beginning at 1 and 7 p.m.; Saturday Sept. 15, beginning at 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.; Sunday, Sept. 16, beginning at 3 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.; Monday, Sept. 17, at 7 a.m.; Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 1 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 5:30 a.m.

The specials will also be available for viewing on demand at beginning Monday, Sept. 17.

Customers of Cox Communications who do not have a converter box, but who have a newer digital TV, will be able to view the special on Channel 89.5 (or 89-5). All Century Link customers will continue to find KCLV on Channel 2.
