Free Ward 2 Back-to-School Fair and Movie in the Park Aug. 9
See “The Muppets” Movie, Enjoy Fun Activities, Gather School Supplies

Ward 2 Councilman Bob Beers invites residents to join him for a free back-to-school fair and movie in the park on Thursday, Aug. 9, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Ansan Sister City Park. Free back packs, school supplies, light refreshments and beverages will be distributed in the park at 7801 Ducharme Ave. (at Buffalo Drive near Alta) while supplies last. Residents are invited to bring blankets and picnic baskets and enjoy numerous children's activities until the PG-rated "The Muppets" movie starts at dusk.

"I’ve been a big fan of Kermit the Frog since I first saw him pick up a banjo," Councilman Beers said. "In the latest movie, which we will be showing Aug. 9, he actually graduates to a five-string instrument. Summer evenings are a great time for families and neighbors to get together to enjoy our parks and outdoor activities. This 15-acre park has a playground, fitness course, tennis and volleyball courts, soccer field, picnic areas, walking path and more. I, and the rest of the Ward 2 staff, look forward to helping the kids get ready for school and meeting everyone who comes to participate."
