Fire Destroys RV Motor Home
Apartment Has Minor Damage From Fire

Las Vegas and North Las Vegas firefighters responded to a RV/motor home fire at 620 W. Monroe Ave. at 7:41 a.m. this morning. On arrival the motor home was fully involved with fire attempting to spread to two nearby buildings, a vacant house in front on the property which has been vacant for over two years, and a duplex which is occupied.

The fire did enter one apartment of the duplex, but firefighters quickly doused the flames before it did major damage.  In the process, firefighters rescued one woman from the involved apartment and an adult and two small children from the other apartment.  There were no reported injuries.

The motor home and boat were destroyed by the fire, a van and one apartment had minor damage. Damage was estimated at $10,000.

The cause of the fire is undetermined. Neighbors told investigators that the property has been vacant for over two years and homeless people and children were seen in the house and elsewhere on the property from time to time.
