City Of Las Vegas Pools Open For Summer Season May 26
All City Pools Will Open By June 11 For Fun, Swimming Lessons And Water Sports Teams


Carlos L. Martinez & Darrio J. Hall Family Pool at Gary Reese Freedom Park and the Doolittle Pool will open Memorial Day weekend and the following weekend, before opening full time June 9. At Doolittle Pool, hours will be 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, May 26 and June 2. At the pool at Gary Reese Freedom Park, hours will be noon to 4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, May 26-27 and June 2-3, and Memorial Day. Pavilion Center Pool will be open this holiday weekend, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday and 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and Monday.

On May 28, the pool at Gary Reese Freedom Park will host a special event with special pricing. Everyone is invited to Fiesta Day from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $3 per person, with food and drink available for purchase for an additional fee. Latin music, food and beverages will enliven the celebration.

Pavilion Center Pool and Municipal Pool are open year-round. Through June 9, Pavilion Center Pool is open Monday/Wednesday/Friday 4 to 8 p.m. for lap swim/recreation swim (two lanes available for lap swim); Saturday, noon to 3 p.m. lap swim/recreation swim. From June 11 through Sept. 3, the hours will be Monday-Friday, 6 to 8 a.m. adult lap swim; noon to 4 p.m. all ages; 4 to7 p.m. adult lap swim; 7 to 9 p.m. all ages; Saturday-Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. all ages.

Baker Pool also will open for the summer beginning Monday, June 11. Recreational swim times will be noon to 4 p.m. Monday-Saturday, through Aug. 18.

Municipal Pool is open for recreational swimming from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, as well as noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. From 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, there are limited lanes for adult lap swim only. Municipal Pool will be closed May 26-28 for the Desert Storm Memorial Day Long Course Swim Meet. Garside Pool at 300 S. Torrey Pines Drive will remain closed until the summer of 2014, when a new pool facility is expected to open at that location.

Daily fees at all pools are $1 for ages 4-17; $2 for ages 18-49; $1.50 for ages 50+; and free for ages 0-3. All-summer pool passes, valid Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, also are available for purchase. Pass prices are $40 for an individual, $60 for a family of up to 8 people, and $30 for an adult age 50 or older.

Each pool will offer private, semi-private and small group swimming lessons. Private lessons are $100, semi-private lessons (two-three students) are $50, and group lessons (four or more students) are $25, for six 45-minute lessons. Swim lesson sessions begin the week of June 11. Each pool also will offer novice competitive swimming, diving, synchronized swimming and water polo teams for ages 7-17 for only $25 for the entire summer pool season. Registration for swimming lessons and team participation is open until full.
