Ward 4 Councilman Stavros S. Anthony, Clark County School District To Recognize Outstanding Teachers During Awards Ceremony May 10
Ward 4 Middle And Elementary Schools Nominated Teachers

Mayor Pro Tem and Ward 4 Councilman Stavros S. Anthony will be hosting the second annual Ward 4 “Feature a Teacher” awards ceremony on Thursday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m. at Becker Middle School located at 9151 Pinewood Hills Drive. The event is being held in conjunction with Teacher Appreciation Week.

The event is a partnership between the city and the Clark County School District’s School-Community Partnership Program. The middle school and elementary school students from 11 schools in Ward 4 were asked to select the top three finalists from their schools. Representatives from the city of Las Vegas and the School-Community Partnership office selected the winning teacher from each school.

On Thursday, Councilman Anthony will present each winning teacher with an engraved glass apple donated by United Way of Southern Nevada and a certificate of recognition.

“Once again, some outstanding teachers in our school system have been nominated and I am honored that I can recognize them for their outstanding efforts,” Councilman Anthony said. “Their hard work and dedication should not be overlooked.”

The School-Community Partnership Program facilitates curriculum-enhancing programs and activities for students throughout the district. The mission of the program is to connect business and community resources with school resources to enrich the educational experience and to increase student achievement. Partnership ventures are designed to support, supplement, and complement the curriculum of the Clark County public schools.
